SAEL Industries Ltd., an integrated renewable energy company, through its subsidiary Sun free Energy RJP1 Pvt. Ltd., has commissioned its first solar power project of 200 MW (AC) and 298 MW (DC) in Rajasthan
- Project is located in the Jalore district and expand over 1,000 acres, the company Has given this information in a press release. SAEL added that it signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the project with Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Ltd. (RUVITL) on February 20, 2024, at an electricity tariff of ₹2.61 per kWh.
Earlier this year, in a move to strengthen the electricity supply in Rajasthan, RUVNL filed a petition with the Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC), seeking regulatory approval to procure 500 megawatts (MW) of Round-The-Clock (RTC) power over five years. This is because of surplus solar generation being experienced by the state during solar hours.
The proposed procurement is part of a state’s effort to meet its growing demand for reliable and consistent power among the state’s distribution companies (Discoms). According to the petition, the procurement will be carried out through a competitive bidding process and is aimed at bridging supply gaps during peak hours and ensuring uninterrupted power availability across Rajasthan.

About The Project
SAEL explained that it commissioned the project on 17th August 2025, ahead of its Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD). The project Target to enable early transmission and additional supply of power within the state of Rajastan.
The Punjab-based company added, “The solar project in Jalore utilizes advanced TOP-Con Solar PV modules featuring 146 cells & 156 cells with peak outputs of up to 635 Watt Power and efficiency of up to 22.95%. Its location provides seamless transmission connectivity and grid integration, while minimizing transmission losses.”
“The project holds importance for us because it is the largest solar power project developed by SAEL that is connected to a State Transmission Utility. Over 80% of the solar modules installed at the solar plant are sourced from SAEL’s solar module manufacturing facility in Kishangarh, Rajasthan. Our focus is on creating solutions and empowering energy independence and sustainability in the energy space.
